Job Summary

We are seeking a friendly, attentive, and customer-focused individual to join our team as a Waiter. The ideal candidate will ensure that our guests have a pleasant dining experience by delivering excellent customer service, taking orders, and serving food and drinks in a timely and professional manner.

Role and  Responsibilities:

  • Greet and seat guests in a welcoming manner.
  • Present menus, provide recommendations, and answer questions about food and beverage options.
  • Take customer orders accurately and relay them to the kitchen and bar.
  • Ensure all orders are served promptly and meet quality standards.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the dining area, including clearing tables and resetting for new guests.
  • Check on guests to ensure satisfaction with their meals and address any issues or special requests.
  • Process payments, handle cash, and operate the point-of-sale  system.
  • Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely food preparation and presentation.
  • Follow all health and safety regulations regarding food handling, cleanliness, and sanitation.
  • Assist with opening and closing duties as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in a similar role preferred but not required.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Positive attitude and a passion for customer service.
  • Basic math skills for handling payments and making change.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time and carry trays of food and drinks.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.

Skills and Qualification:

  • Experience: Previous experience in a customer service role, especially in food service, is preferred but not required. On-the-job training is often provided.

  • Communication Skills: Must be able to clearly communicate with customers, kitchen staff, and colleagues to ensure smooth service.

  • Customer Service Skills: Ability to interact with guests in a friendly, positive, and professional manner. A focus on creating a pleasant dining experience.

  • Multitasking Ability: Must be able to juggle multiple tasks, such as taking orders, serving food, and attending to customer needs, especially during busy times.

  • Attention to Detail: Ability to accurately take orders, ensure special requests are noted, and verify food quality before serving.

  • Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for long periods, walk around, and carry heavy trays or plates.

  • Teamwork: Must work well with others, including fellow waitstaff, kitchen staff, and management.

  • Basic Math Skills: Ability to handle payments, process transactions, and make change accurately.

  • Knowledge of Food & Beverage: Familiarity with the menu, including food ingredients, preparation methods, and drink options. Knowledge of dietary restrictions or allergens is a plus.

  • Flexibility: Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

  • Cleanliness & Hygiene: Adherence to cleanliness and food safety standards is essential to ensure a safe dining environment.

  • Positive Attitude: A friendly, upbeat attitude to create a welcoming atmosphere for guests.
