Job Summary

We are seeking a friendly, attentive, and reliable waiter to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide excellent customer service, ensure guests have a positive dining experience, and contribute to a smooth and efficient restaurant operation. As a waiter, you will be responsible for taking orders, delivering food and beverages, and ensuring that customers' needs are met promptly and courteously.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Greet customers warmly and escort them to their tables.
  • Present menus and provide detailed information about menu items, including specials and dietary restrictions.
  • Take customer orders accurately and relay them to the kitchen and bar staff.
  • Serve food and drinks to customers in a timely and professional manner.
  • Ensure that all guests are satisfied with their meals and service, and resolve any issues or complaints promptly.
  • Maintain knowledge of the menu, including ingredients, preparation methods, and presentation.
  • Clear tables and reset them for new guests.
  • Handle payments, including cash and credit card transactions, and provide receipts.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the dining area, including refilling condiments and ensuring a clean and pleasant environment.
  • Work with other staff members to ensure a smooth dining experience for all guests.
  • Follow health and safety guidelines, including proper food handling, sanitation, and safety protocols.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a waiter or in a similar customer service role is preferred but not required.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to providing high-quality service.
  • A positive attitude, professionalism, and a customer-focused mindset.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and carry heavy trays for extended periods of time.

 

Required Skills

Experience:

  • Previous experience in a similar role is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Basic knowledge of food and beverage service, as well as restaurant operations, is a plus.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Friendly, approachable, and able to engage with customers in a positive and professional manner.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to handle customer complaints or concerns.

Physical Stamina:

  • Ability to stand, walk, and carry heavy trays for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift and carry objects (up to 25-30 lbs) as required.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Efficient in taking and relaying orders accurately to kitchen or bar staff.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.

  • Ability to work well with other team members, including kitchen staff, other waiters, and management.
  • Willingness to collaborate and assist coworkers when necessary.

Professionalism:

  • Maintain a neat, clean, and professional appearance at all times.

Knowledge of Menus and Special Requests:

  • Ability to quickly learn the menu and answer customer questions about ingredients, preparation methods, and allergens.
  • Knowledge of dietary restrictions, menu specials, and beverage options.

Flexibility and Availability:

  • Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by the restaurant’s schedule.
  • Flexibility to adapt to different shifts and business needs.

Health & Safety Compliance:

  • Basic knowledge of food safety practices and hygiene standards.
  • Ability to follow safety and sanitation guidelines to ensure the health and safety of customers and coworkers.
