An Accountant is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing financial statements, and analyzing financial data to assist organizations in making informed financial decisions. They play a crucial role in ensuring financial compliance and efficiency.
Role and Responsibilities:
Financial Record Keeping:
- Maintain and update financial records, including ledgers, journals, and general accounts.
- Record financial transactions accurately and in a timely manner.
Financial Reporting:
- Prepare financial statements, such as balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Generate periodic reports to provide insights into the organization's financial health.
Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations, accounting principles, and tax laws.
- Prepare and file tax returns and other regulatory reports.
Budgeting and Forecasting:
- Assist in the development of budgets and forecasts to guide financial planning.
- Monitor actual financial performance against budgeted figures and provide variance analysis.
Financial Analysis:
- Analyze financial data to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement.
- Provide financial insights and recommendations to support strategic decision-making.
Audit Support:
- Prepare documentation and support for internal and external audits.
- Address audit findings and implement corrective actions when necessary.
Account Reconciliation:
- Reconcile financial discrepancies by investigating and resolving discrepancies or irregularities.
Payroll Processing:
- Calculate and process employee payroll, ensuring accurate deductions and compliance with labor laws.
Expense Management:
- Monitor and control expenses, ensuring cost-effective financial operations.
Financial Software and Tools:
- Utilize accounting software and financial tools for data entry, analysis, and reporting.
Financial Advisory:
- Provide financial advice and recommendations to management or clients for strategic financial planning.
Required Skills
Skills and Qualification:
- QuickBooks experience is plus
- Familiar with US income tax is plus
- Any past experience with US CPA firm will be helpful
- Minimum 2 year experience
- At least Bachelors degree
