The Senior Manager Communications will be responsible for overseeing the communication function and developing and implementing strategic communication plans. He/She manages the communication projects, ensures timely execution of activities, and monitors progress. Additionally, he/she coordinates with various teams and stakeholders, plans and executes communication activities, and manages social media accounts and events to ensure successful communication outcomes. His/Her role is crucial in ensuring effective communication and achieving the desired outcomes.
Role and Responsibilities:
Lead and manage the strategic communications agenda of the institution and facilitate AKDN agencies in achieving set objectives.
Oversee project management for all communication-related initiatives, including planning, budgeting, and implementation, to ensure that projects are delivered on time, within scope, and budget.
Develop and implement social and behavior change communication campaigns.
Work closely with the institutions to create effective communication materials for key programmes and thematic areas.
Develop strategic communication messaging to project the impact of programmatic interventions of the institutions and AKDN agencies.
Manage the utility of digital platforms and facilitate the integration of digital technology to reach the community directly, especially the youth.
Monitor and manage the media coverage with regional and national media outlets to ensure positive exposure.
Maintain Public Relations on behalf of the Department of Communications and Publications.
Conduct formal and informal surveys to understand the access and consumption of various communication channels.
Manage the design and production of high quality audio and video content, publications, newsletters, and other internal and external information materials to communicate effectively with the stakeholders.
Support The Ismaili global and AKDN communication teams in developing and disseminating content to the community and wider audiences.
Plan and deploy communication initiatives related to major global programs.
Skills and Qualification:
Master’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, Public Relations, or a related field.
Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in communications, public relations, or related fields.
At least 3 -5 years in a leadership or supervisory role, managing communication teams or projects.
Familiarity with the development sector or working with NGOs or community organizations is beneficial.
Excellent command of written and spoken English and Urdu.
