Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Quantity Surveyor / Cost Engineer to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a critical role in cost management, estimation, and control across various projects. Role and Responsibilities:

  • Extract and prepare Bills of Quantities (BOQs) (Civil & MEP) from project drawings, specifications, and site conditions.
  • Identify and analyze scope gaps, missing quantities, and additional works from project drawings and site conditions.
  • Update BOQs based on site progress, variations, and unforeseen conditions.
  • Review and manage cost estimates in compliance with contract agreements, drawings, and specifications.
  • Assess and verify variations in construction activities.
  • Prepare and review BOQs to ensure accuracy and alignment with project requirements.
  • Forecast final project costs, considering variations and contractual commitments.
  • Conduct quantity take-offs for materials and resources.
  • Process interim valuations and payment certificates for contractors.
  • Analyse and recommend solutions for variations, claims, and cost-related disputes.
  • Measure and value variations and new rates, ensuring that all changes are documented and agreed upon with relevant stakeholders.
  • Assess additional work and update contract values accordingly.
  • Ensure that cost variations do not exceed the approved project budget.

Project Status Monitoring & Reporting:

  • Monitor cash flow projections, progress claims, and interim payment certificates.
  • Track and report project progress against BOQs, budgets, and timelines.
  • Ensure that all project changes, variations, and additional works are properly documented.
  • Coordinate with site teams to align BOQ requirements with actual work execution.
  • Perform regular site inspections to review project progress and identify potential variations.
  • Communicate daily with the Operations Team to stay informed of the work programme and site progress.
     

Required Skills

Skills and Qualification:

  • The ideal candidate must hold a Diploma of Associate Engineer (DAE) in Civil Engineering.
  • A certification in Quantity Surveying will be considered an added advantage.
  • A minimum of eight years of experience in Quantity Surveying is required, along with proficiency in MS Office and AutoCAD to effectively manage project estimates, cost analysis, and documentation.
