Job Summary

As Program Officer, the incumbent will primarily be responsible for different aspects of programs and interventions related to Aga Khan Youth & Sports Board and Aga Khan Health Board across the Region. The incumbent will report to the Regional Operations Manager (ROM) and also closely work with Manager operations, field teams, volunteers, and partners at the Local, Regional, and National levels to plan and implement relevant programs. The prime responsibility will be the implementation and management of programs and interventions with the support of partner Institutions and regional portfolio members in the respective region. S/he will also be required to continuously monitor the programs for scalability and sustainability, as well as develop tracking and impact reports to be shared with all the stakeholders.

Functional Responsibilities:

  • Work with the field teams, volunteers, partners, and all the relevant stakeholders at the regional and national levels to design and implement relevant programs/activities.
  • Coordinate program requests received from the field offices and team members.
  • Implement current and planned programs/ initiatives through staff and local volunteers.
  • Prepare program budgets for approval, prepare pre and post program reports and submit all related bills and adjust advances for specific programs.
  • Assist in liaising with community members and other stakeholders.
  • Provide regular feedback to the line manager on ongoing programs.
  • Maintaining MIS of all the beneficiaries who have participated in the programs and interventions, as well as assisting the national team in developing a tracking mechanism of the benefits that individuals have derived from institutional interventions.
  • Ensure implementation of the developed systems and mechanisms at the regional and local level.
  • Provide regular feedback and progress updates to the Regional Operations Manager and Manager Operations of the community on ongoing programs.
  • Ensure that systems and processes are in place for database management to properly track each program’s aspects.
  • Prepare consolidation, monthly, and periodic analytical reports on overview of programs, programmatic outcomes, and recommendations for Manager Operations and all stakeholders.
  • To ensure the proper Monitoring & Evaluation of all programs/training and report them to the Office Bearers and line manager for necessary amendments in future planning.
  • Any other tasks are given by the National Portfolio’s Head of Operations, Regional Manager, Regional Leadership and Local leadership.

Required Skills

The ideal candidate must have:

  • Master’s degree (16 years of education) in Social Science, Management or Administration.
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience in social, public or corporate sector.
  • Strong motivational skills and experience with community activism.
  • Problem solving skills and willingness to work around obstacles both internal and external.
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task, organize work and co-ordinate several programs.
  • Ability to work in teams and with people from diverse economic and cultural backgrounds.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and command over English and Urdu.
  • Fair competence and comfort level with use of computers and basic internet applications.
  • A strong understanding of and respect for social ethics and other core values of the Board including equality, fairness, diversity, participation, creativity, humility and respect.
  • Willingness to work on any additional task as assigned.
  • Have excellent command over MS Office, especially MS PowerPoint, Word and Excel, as well as In‐page etc. Besides this, the incumbent must have sound knowledge of data analysis, statistical calculations and SPSS.
  • The ideal candidate should be between the age of 28-40 years.
  • Travel and Schedule:
    Willing to work beyond normal working hours and travel within and outside assigned jurisdiction
