Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Housekeeper to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring all assigned areas are clean, neat, and tidy, adhering to health and safety standards. This role requires a keen eye for detail, excellent time management skills, and a commitment to providing exceptional service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Clean and tidy all areas to the standard cleanliness within time limits
  • Perform various cleaning actions such as dusting, sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, cleaning ceiling vents, restroom cleaning, etc.
  • Ensure all rooms are cared for and inspected according to standards
  • Protect equipment and make sure there are no inadequacies
  • Notify superiors of any damages, deficits, and disturbances
  • Deal with reasonable complaints/requests with professionalism and patience
  • Check stocking levels of all consumables and replace when appropriate
  • Adhere strictly to rules regarding health and safety and be aware of any company-related practices

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Cleaner or Housekeeper
  • Ability to work with little supervision and maintain a high level of performance
  • Customer-oriented and friendly
  • Prioritization and time management skills
  • Working quickly without compromising quality
  • Knowledge of English language
  • High school degree or equivalent

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in a hotel or hospitality environment
  • Knowledge of cleaning and sanitation products, techniques, and methods
  • Familiarity with Material Safety Data Sheets

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 25 pounds
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, reach, twist, and climb stairs for extended periods
  • Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays

 

Required Skills

Experience:

  • Proven experience as a Housekeeper, Cleaner, or similar role.
  • Experience in a hotel or hospitality environment is preferred but not required.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness.
  • Customer-oriented with a friendly and professional demeanor.
  • Effective communication skills in English; knowledge of additional languages is a plus.

Technical Knowledge:

  • Familiarity with cleaning products, techniques, and equipment.
  • Knowledge of sanitation and hygiene standards.
  • Ability to follow safety protocols and use cleaning chemicals safely.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, reach, twist, and climb stairs for extended periods.
  • Capability to perform repetitive tasks and handle physical exertion.

Educational Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.

Other Requirements:

  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.
  • Reliable transportation to and from the workplace.
  • A background check may be required prior to employment.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform general cleaning tasks including dusting, sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, and sanitizing surfaces.
  • Clean and disinfect bathrooms, kitchens, and other assigned areas.
  • Change linens, make beds, and replace towels and toiletries as needed.
  • Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to the supervisor.
  • Ensure all cleaning supplies and equipment are used properly and maintained in good condition.
  • Follow all health and safety regulations.
