Job Summary

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Safe Transportation: Safely operate a vehicle, whether it's a car, truck, van, or specialized vehicle, to transport passengers or goods to their destinations.

  • Adherence to Traffic Laws: Obey all traffic laws, regulations, and company policies while driving, including speed limits, signage, and safety protocols.

  • Route Planning: Plan the most efficient route for each trip to ensure timely arrival at the destination, considering factors such as traffic, weather conditions, and road closures.

  • Vehicle Maintenance: Conduct regular inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition, report any mechanical issues to the appropriate personnel, and perform basic maintenance tasks as needed (e.g., refueling, checking oil levels).

  • Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service to passengers or clients, assist with loading and unloading luggage or cargo, and address any concerns or questions they may have during the journey.

  • Communication: Maintain clear communication with dispatchers, supervisors, or clients to provide updates on the status of trips, report any incidents or delays, and coordinate schedules as necessary.

  • Record Keeping: Keep accurate records of mileage, hours worked, and any incidents or accidents that occur during driving duties.

Required Skills

Qualifications:

  • Valid driver's license appropriate for the type of vehicle being operated.
  • Clean driving record with no history of major accidents or traffic violations.
  • Knowledge of traffic laws and safe driving practices.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to follow directions and navigate efficiently using maps or GPS systems.
  • Physical fitness and stamina for long periods of driving.
  • Depending on the position, additional qualifications such as a commercial driver's license (CDL), specific endorsements, or specialized training may be required.

Physical Requirements:
