Job Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Early Childhood Development (ECD) Teacher to join our team. The ECD Teacher will be responsible for creating a nurturing and stimulating learning environment for young children, guiding them through critical stages of their early development. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of child development principles, be skilled in creating age-appropriate lesson plans, and be passionate about fostering a love of learning in young children.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Plan and implement age-appropriate educational activities and lessons that promote cognitive, emotional, social, and physical development.
  • Create a safe, supportive, and engaging classroom environment where children feel comfortable exploring and learning.
  • Observe and assess children’s progress, documenting their development and providing feedback to parents and guardians.
  • Use a variety of teaching methods, including play, storytelling, and hands-on activities, to foster curiosity and a love for learning.
  • Encourage positive social interactions among children and teach conflict resolution skills.
  • Maintain open communication with parents, providing regular updates on their child’s progress and addressing any concerns.
  • Collaborate with other teachers and staff to create a cohesive educational experience for the children.
  • Monitor and ensure the safety and well-being of all children at all times.
  • Adapt teaching strategies to meet the diverse needs of children, including those with special needs.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to stay updated on best practices in early childhood education.

Required Skills

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field.
  • Certification in Early Childhood Education (if required by local regulations).
  • Proven experience (2+ years) working with young children in a preschool, daycare, or early childhood education setting.
  • Strong understanding of child development principles and early childhood education best practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with young children and communicate effectively with parents.
  • Patience, creativity, and a passion for working with young children.
  • Ability to create a positive and inclusive classroom environment.

Working Conditions:

  • Full-time position, typically Monday through Friday, with some flexibility required for special events or meetings.
  • Classroom setting with opportunities for outdoor activities and play.
  • Interaction with children ranging from infants to preschool-aged.
