Job Summary

The Coordinator, Assessment, Evaluation and Research will play a pivotal role in managing examination processes, coordinating School evaluation, leading academic research initiatives, and providing academic oversight across all stages of the examination and assessment cycle. The ideal candidate will use their expertise in curriculum development, assessment frameworks, and academic research to enhance the school’s educational programs. This role requires close collaboration with teachers, school leadership, and external academic bodies to ensure the highest standards in assessment practices and the continuous improvement of academic performance.

Role and  Responsibilities:

Examination and Assessment Management:

  • Manage and coordinate all aspects of the examination process, from paper development to exam execution. Ensure all procedures are compliant with the school’s academic standards and aligned with relevant educational boards.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive assessment strategies and frameworks for different subject areas, ensuring consistency and alignment with academic goals.
  • Review assessment materials for quality assurance, accuracy, and alignment with the curriculum. Lead efforts to standardize grading and evaluation practices.
  • Oversee the scheduling, invigilation, and logistics of internal and external examinations, ensuring smooth operation and minimal disruption.

School Monitoring & Evaluation (SSE)

  • To support /facilitate HoA office in setting priority areas for School self-evaluation, developing evaluation framework (including data collection approaches), developing and piloting data collection tools, and creating M&E plans. 
  • Oversee implementation of SSE according to the timelines set in the framework and plan
  • Support the collection, verification, analysis, and reporting of data 
  • Contribute to reports, work plans, and other deliverables 
  • Offer technical guidance and support to staff
  • Work with staff to review project performance against targets and baselines 

Research and Academic Development:

  • Lead and coordinate academic research projects within IYS School network.
  • Design and implement action research initiatives in key academic areas to improve teaching practices and student outcomes.
  • Conduct and analyze stakeholder perception studies on teaching and learning to inform school development planning and enhance educational practices.

Professional Development and Training:

  • Develop and deliver training programs for teachers focused on assessment strategies, curriculum implementation, and effective teaching methods.
  • Provide continuous support to teachers on best practices in assessment, feedback, and classroom strategies.
  • Work closely with the subject leads and supervisors to align assessment practices and curriculum with school development goals.

Required Skills

Skills and Qualification:

  • MA/MSc, B.Ed and M. Ed Subject specialization, Masters in Assessment and Evaluation & / or M. Phil would be an added advantage.
  • 10+ years of school experience including teaching, academic coordination / advisory role, school leadership, student assessment, and an experience of teaching professional development
  • Good inter-personal skills as the incumbent will have to work very closely with teachers and school management
  • Advanced knowledge and experience of using MS Word and Excel.  Knowledge of SPSS would be an added advantage
  • Able to travel inter and intra city to visit all IYS Schools (at least each school once in a quarter)
