Job Summary

We are looking for a skilled and passionate Cook to join our kitchen team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of cooking techniques, ingredients, and kitchen safety practices. As a Cook, you will be responsible for preparing high-quality meals, following recipes, and ensuring consistency in food presentation. You will work closely with the kitchen team to maintain a clean, organized, and efficient workspace, contributing to a positive dining experience for our guests.

Role and Responsibilities:

Food Preparation:

  • Prepare ingredients and cook meals according to recipes and quality standards.
  • Follow portion control guidelines and adjust ingredients as needed to meet dietary requirements.
  • Ensure food is served at the correct temperature and in a timely manner.

Kitchen Operations:

  • Set up workstations and stock all necessary supplies.
  • Adhere to kitchen safety and hygiene regulations, maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
  • Monitor food inventory and communicate needs to the Kitchen Manager or Head Chef.

Quality Control:

  • Ensure that food quality, taste, and presentation meet the restaurant's standards.
  • Check freshness and quality of ingredients before use.
  • Consistently monitor dishes for visual appeal and taste.

Collaboration and Communication:

  • Work as a part of a team, supporting and communicating with fellow cooks and kitchen staff.
  • Follow instructions from the Head Chef or Kitchen Manager to ensure consistency in recipes and kitchen operations.
  • Assist with training and mentoring new kitchen staff as needed.

Health and Safety Compliance:

  • Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines, including proper storage and labeling.
  • Comply with health department regulations and maintain a clean, safe, and organized kitchen.
  • Use kitchen equipment safely and report any maintenance or repair needs.

Adaptability and Efficiency:

  • Multitask and handle high-pressure situations, especially during peak hours.
  • Adapt to changing menus and food orders as needed.
  • Manage time effectively to ensure timely food preparation and service.

 

Required Skills

Qualifications:

  • Experience: Proven experience as a cook in a similar setting (restaurant, hotel, or catering preferred).
  • Education: Culinary school training or certification is a plus but not required

Skills:

  • Strong understanding of cooking techniques, food safety, and hygiene practices.
  • Ability to follow recipes and adhere to portion control guidelines.
  • Effective time management skills, especially during busy service hours.
