We are seeking a friendly, reliable, and detail-oriented Cashier to join our team. As a cashier, you will be the face of our company, providing excellent customer service while efficiently handling sales transactions. Your primary responsibilities will include operating the cash register, handling payments, and assisting customers with inquiries.
Role and Responsibilities:
Greet customers warmly and respond to their questions in a helpful manner.
Operate cash registers, scanners, and other equipment to process sales transactions accurately.
Handle cash, credit/debit card payments, and provide correct change and receipts.
Maintain a clean and organized checkout area.
Process returns and exchanges following store policies.
Count cash drawer at the beginning and end of shifts and ensure balances are correct.
Assist with stocking shelves and organizing merchandise as needed.
Follow all company policies and procedures regarding cash handling and customer service.
Stay up to date on promotions and store policies to provide accurate information.
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent (GED) preferred.
Experience:
Previous cashier, retail, or customer service experience is a plus but not required (entry-level friendly).
Skills:
Basic math skills (able to calculate totals, give change, handle transactions accurately).
Good verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
Attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to multitask and stay calm under pressure.
Basic computer or POS (Point of Sale) system knowledge.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand for long periods (up to 8 hours).
Availability:
Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
