Job Summary:

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Bank Cashier to join our team. As the first point of contact for customers, the Bank Cashier will be responsible for handling customer transactions, managing cash and checks, and ensuring a seamless banking experience. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, a keen eye for accuracy, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Handle daily cash transactions, including deposits, withdrawals, and check cashing, efficiently and accurately

  • Process payments for loans, utility bills, and other banking services
  • Verify customer identification and ensure compliance with bank security policies
  • Maintain records of cash flow and balance the cash drawer at the end of each shift
  • Identify and resolve customer inquiries and refer complex issues to appropriate personnel
  • Promote bank products and services, such as credit cards, loans, and savings accounts
  • Ensure compliance with banking policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements
  • Report suspicious transactions or potential fraud to the appropriate department
  • Provide friendly and professional service to all customers

 

Required Skills

Qualifications:

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent; degree in finance, business, or related field preferred
  • Experience: Previous experience in cash handling or banking is an advantage

Skills:

  • Strong mathematical and organizational skills

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Basic computer skills, with knowledge of banking software preferred

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; an associate's or bachelor’s degree in finance, business, or related field is a plus
  • Prior experience in cash handling, customer service, or retail is advantageous

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in basic computer skills and familiarity with banking software (experience with cash registers or similar systems is beneficial)
  • Knowledge of cash management practices and security procedures in a banking environment

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to sit, stand, and work at a counter or desk for extended periods
  • Basic manual dexterity to handle currency and coins
