Job Summary

The Cashier is responsible for processing customer transactions accurately and efficiently while providing excellent customer service. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, a positive attitude, and the ability to handle transactions with accuracy and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Greet customers warmly and provide friendly assistance.
  • Accurately process sales transactions using cash registers or point-of-sale systems.
  • Handle cash, credit, and debit card transactions, ensuring all payments are processed correctly.
  • Issue receipts, refunds, credits, or change due to customers.
  • Answer customer inquiries and resolve any issues or concerns promptly.
  • Maintain a clean and organized checkout area.
  • Assist with stocking shelves, organizing products, and keeping the store tidy.
  • Follow all company policies and procedures, including cash handling and loss prevention protocols.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure a smooth and efficient checkout process.
  • Provide information on promotions, sales, and product features to customers.
  • Assist in other store duties as needed, including inventory management and restocking.

 

Required Skills

Job Requirements:

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

Experience:

  • Previous experience as a cashier or in a retail environment is preferred but not required.

Skills:

  • Strong numerical and mathematical skills.
  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with point-of-sale (POS) systems.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in handling transactions.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand for extended periods.
