Career Counsellor – Aga Khan Higher Secondary School, Karachi
Roles and Responsibilities:
The Career Counsellor will be responsible for the following:
• Prepare student profiles and career plans.
• Guide students in determining their interests and abilities using a range of methods, such as personality tests (MBTI), aptitude assessments, interviews, and planning materials, etc.
• Have extensive knowledge of programmes being offered by various international and national universities.
• Connect students to additional resources such as scholarships, financial aid, vocational training, extensive counselling, and other assistance as needed.
• Conduct workshops on a variety of topics, including personal statements, writing resumes, cover letters, etc.
• Support academic and career development activities such as one-on-one skill assessment and career guidance and conduct test and admission application preparations.
• Teach classes and present self-help or information sessions on subjects related to career planning.
• Compile and study occupational, educational, and economic information to assist counselees in determining and carrying out vocational and educational objectives.
• Provide information for teachers and staff members involved in helping students identify and pursue education opportunities.
• Attend staff meetings and serve on committees as required.
• Prepare reports on students and activities as required by the administration.
Required Skills
Required Skills and Qualification:
Candidate should have a Master's degree in Education, Psychology or Educational Psychology.
Candidate should have 2–3 years of relevant experience.
Candidate should have effective communication skills.
Candidate should have strong interpersonal skills.
Candidate should have a good command over MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
