We are seeking a skilled and passionate BBQ Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate should be experienced in grilling and smoking meats, preparing marinades and sauces, and delivering high-quality BBQ dishes. Creativity, consistency, and a strong understanding of BBQ techniques are essential.
Role and Responsibilities:
Prepare and cook a variety of BBQ items (meat, poultry, seafood, etc.) to perfection.
Operate and maintain grills, smokers, and other BBQ equipment.
Marinate meats, prepare rubs, sauces, and side dishes as per recipe or house standards.
Ensure proper portion control and presentation of food.
Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in the kitchen and grill area.
Monitor inventory and ensure the freshness and quality of all ingredients.
Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines.
Experience:
Minimum 1–2 years of experience as a BBQ chef, grill cook, or in a similar role.
BBQ Expertise:
Skilled in grilling, smoking, marinating, and slow-cooking meats.
Knowledge of various BBQ styles (e.g., Texas, Kansas City, smoked BBQ, etc.) is a plus.
Technical Skills:
Ability to operate grills, smokers, and related BBQ equipment efficiently and safely.
Familiarity with temperature control and cooking timing for different types of meat.
Food Safety Knowledge:
Strong understanding of hygiene, cleanliness, and food safety standards.
Must follow all kitchen health and safety guidelines.
Physical Ability:
Physically fit to stand for long periods, work in hot environments, and lift heavy items when needed.
Time Management:
Ability to multitask, work quickly under pressure, and manage prep and cooking efficiently.
Teamwork & Communication:
Good interpersonal and communication skills to work well with kitchen staff and management.
Creativity (Optional):
Ability to create or suggest new BBQ dishes, rubs, and sauces.
Flexibility:
Willing to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as per business needs.
Education (Optional):
Culinary certification or relevant training is an advantage but not mandatory.
