Job Summary

The Assistant Manager – QR&D is responsible for supporting the development, implementation, and monitoring of quality standards and R&D initiatives. The role focuses on ensuring product excellence, innovation, compliance with regulations, and continuous improvement in processes and systems.

Role and  Responsibilities:

Quality Assurance & Compliance

  • Assist in establishing and maintaining quality systems and protocols in line with industry standards.
  • Conduct internal audits and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor product and process quality, ensuring timely corrective actions where required.
  •  Maintain documentation for quality certifications and audits (ISO, GMP, etc.).
  • Research & Development
  • Support R&D initiatives for product improvements, innovation, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Conduct research on materials, ingredients, or technologies aligned with company goals.
  • Coordinate with production, procurement, and sales for product trials and launches.
  • Analyze R&D data and present findings and recommendations.
  • Team Collaboration
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams including QA, production, and marketing.
  • Assist the Manager – QR&D in mentoring junior staff or interns.
  • Participate in training sessions, knowledge sharing, and workshops.
  • Process Improvement
  •  Identify areas for operational improvement and efficiency enhancement.
  • Implement new tools, techniques, and systems that support innovation and excellence.
  • •    Monitor KPIs related to quality and R&D metrics.
     

Required Skills

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Science, Engineering, Food Tech, Pharma, or related field.
  • 3–5 years of experience in quality control, quality assurance, or R&D.
  • Familiarity with quality management systems and R&D project handling.

Skills Required:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Good command of documentation and regulatory compliance.
  • Proficiency in MS Office; ERP knowledge is a plus.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and team management skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
