Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing financial transactions, preparing financial reports, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and assisting with budgeting and forecasting. This role is pivotal to maintaining the integrity of the company’s financial records and contributing to sound financial decision-making.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Financial Reporting: Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.

  • General Ledger Maintenance: Perform month-end and year-end closing procedures, ensuring all entries are accurate and in compliance with accounting standards.

  • Accounts Payable/Receivable: Oversee the accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, ensuring timely and accurate recording of transactions.

  • Bank Reconciliation: Reconcile bank statements with internal records and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.

  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts, providing relevant financial insights and analysis to support decision-making.

  • Tax Compliance: Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local tax regulations. Assist with the preparation of tax returns and other filings.

  • Internal Controls: Implement and monitor internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure accurate financial reporting.

  • Audit Support: Assist with both internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and information.

  • Financial Analysis: Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for cost savings or revenue growth.

  • Other Duties: Perform other accounting-related duties as required by management.

Required Skills

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field (such as Finance or Business Administration)
  • Proficiency in accounting software (such as QuickBooks, Xero, or SAP)
  • Strong knowledge of financial regulations and laws (such as GAAP or IFRS)
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to work accurately and efficiently with numbers
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
  • Strong time management and prioritization skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel)
  • Ability to learn and adapt to new accounting software and systems
  • Strong understanding of financial concepts (such as budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis)
  • Experience with financial reporting and analysis
  • Ability to work in a team environment and collaborate with others
