Job Summary

The Accountant is responsible for managing financial transactions, maintaining accurate financial records, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards. The role involves preparing financial statements, performing reconciliations, and assisting with audits and budget preparation.

Roel and  Responsibilities:

Financial Recordkeeping:

  • Maintain and update accurate financial records.
  • Record financial transactions in the general ledger.
  • Reconcile bank statements and resolve discrepancies.

Financial Reporting:

  • Prepare and present financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
  • Analyze financial data and provide insights to management.

Compliance and Internal Controls:

  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, laws, and regulations.
  • Implement and monitor internal controls to safeguard company assets.
  • Assist with external audits and provide necessary documentation.

Budgeting and Forecasting:

  • Assist in the preparation and monitoring of budgets.
  • Analyze variances between budgeted and actual figures.
  • Support financial forecasting and planning activities.

Accounts Payable and Receivable:

  • Process invoices and manage accounts payable.
  • Monitor and follow up on accounts receivable and collections.
  • Reconcile vendor statements and resolve any issues.

Tax Preparation:

  • Assist with tax filings and ensure compliance with tax regulations.
  • Prepare tax returns and documentation as required.

Administrative Support:

  • Provide support for financial decision-making processes.
  • Assist with payroll processing and other administrative tasks as needed.

 

Required Skills

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Professional certification (e.g., CPA) is preferred but not required.
  • Proven experience as an Accountant or in a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word).
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.

Technical Accounting Skills:

  • Financial Reporting: Ability to prepare and interpret financial statements and reports.
  • General Ledger Management: Expertise in managing and maintaining general ledger accounts.
  • Reconciliation: Proficiency in reconciling bank statements, accounts, and transactions.
  • Tax Knowledge: Understanding of tax regulations and preparation of tax returns.

Analytical Skills:

  • Data Analysis: Ability to analyze financial data, identify trends, and provide insights.
  • Problem Solving: Skills to identify issues, develop solutions, and make informed decisions based on financial data.

  • Precision in handling financial data and ensuring accuracy in records and reports.

Technical Proficiency:

  • Accounting Software: Familiarity with accounting software such as QuickBooks, SAP, or Oracle.
  • Spreadsheet Skills: Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel or other spreadsheet software for data analysis and reporting.
